I can’t believe I haven’t blogged their full session yet. Oi! This is a family I’ve known for a couple of years now, but it’s the first time we were able to get the whole crew together. I’m SO glad we did…look at how much fun they are! I also enjoyed re-visiting one of my most favorite buildings in Austin. Something about redheads, too…

After the past few very rough days, it was lovely to see her finally sleeping so peacefully. Like a little angel.

Albeit, a little cold. But who cares when you get to work with a boy this charming? (Great to see you guys again, today, M!)

But then, I spent the afternoon like this:

She’s absolutely pitiful. It’s so hard when your kids are sick. You can’t do anything and you can’t do anything for them. Snuggles are good. But does it make me a bad mom to say that I secretly enjoyed being forced to do nothing all day but hold my sleeping, fever-flushed angel in my arms? Perhaps, but it’s still precious to me.

It’s almost not fair for a boy to get rosy cheeks and lashes like his. Look out ladies…I’m afraid he has the makings of a heartbreaker.

We’ve got one, teeny-tiny little opening left in the morning for our Xpressions sessions, Sunday, February 21st. We are going to be touring some of my favorite spots in trendy East Austin. Think hip, colorful, urban, funky, and fun! If you’ve been thinking about grabbing one of these photo sessions, just do it.

• Maybe you need engagement pictures or haven’t had your picture taken with your significant other in a looooooooong time?

You guys know that Lyndsay and I went out with our hubbies several weeks ago to experiment with shooting in the dark. Little did I know that the experiment would teach us much more than how/if we could shoot at night. When Lyndsay and I exchanged links for our pics from that evening, I think we were equally shocked by how *different* our images were from each other. How amazing to see that even with the same equipment and the same locations, some of our takes were similar, but mostly, they were vastly different.

I’ve always thought our styles were similar, but now I’m thinking how cool it is that they’re not that similar after all. Our passion is the same, but it’s our art that makes us unique.

I’m so in love with the pictures Lyndsay took of us! Virgil and I did not hire a wedding photographer when we were married, so it’s such a treat to have such beautiful images of the two of us…10 years later and still very much in love. I have big plans for these pictures, L, but first, I have to build an addition to the house to get more wall space. Thank you soooooooo very much for this adventure and this gift.  Hey, we should work together more often. What are you doing tonight?

Wow! I’ve never had such a hard time deciding like this. Oi! Thanks to everyone for your input.

[What does this mean?]

I loved this session. The freedom that you get when you have a beautiful, willing and enthusiastic subject is immeasurable. Look at all the fun things we got to do!

Hard to believe how chilly it actually was outside that day. She was such a trooper.  Everything was so romantic and childlike.

So much so, that I think one of these is going to *have* to be Pic of the Month for January.  But I honestly can’t decide which one. Any input?

Okay, before we bombard you with any more cuteness, have you been to Baby Coco in Austin before? If not, do yourself a favor and go. Cheyenne does such an amazing job with her creative and shabby chic decorating. Every time I walk into the store, I see something new and cool.  For example:

Um, I’m sorry, but if *I* could fit into that crib, I would be waking up in that every morning. Truly a beautiful touch-n-feel-n-experience kind of store. And it’s a great place to find unique baby shower gifts, too!  Now back to your daily dose of adorableness, Baby Q, the new face of Baby Coco. This girlie has got it goin’ on!

And what about that insane Christmas tree??????  To the ridiculously talented artist that created the tree, I’m planning to sneak into the store one night and confiscate it. If you would like to keep me out of prison, please tell me how I can get such an elegant and stunning tree like that for my baby girl. Thank you very much for allowing me to continue raising my children. ;-) (More from our amazing time at Baby Coco here and here.)

I love this moment caught where mom pleads with her son to relax a little and show us his beautiful grin. He negotiated with us and agreed to participate in the session only *if* I let him take a picture of his mommy. I can’t believe this, but I agreed and handed him my camera [photographers across the world groan in disdain]. And after I saw this shot from him, I quickly wondered if I had just put myself out of business. ;-)
