“romeo” returns | austin children’s photographer

You may remember my little “Romeo” (not his real name, but he is quite the charmer). Well, I had the honor of photographing him on his official 6 month birthday and lo and behold, I got to work with him again on his official 1 year birthday! We met up at the neatest loft in downtown Austin to do the photo session. He kept me on my toes this time around, that’s for sure. But oh, he’s so cute!

Whatever I lack in energy these days, these two brothers sure made up for it. I’m not talking the run-around, crazy kiddo kind of energy. These cuties were full of life and excitement and appreciation for everything we explored today.

Thought I’d post this last one just for C man, the animal lover. This was our “friend” during the shoot today. He was the tamest, cutest little rodent I had ever seen:

This last one really appealled to me for some reason.  It is SUCH the picture of motherhood and how I feel most of the time. Life with little kids is a blur. It’s hectic. It’s fun. It’s unpredictable. It’s a new definition of beautiful.

The title says it all. And you’d think so even more if you knew this little one just drove in from CA (with her family) yesterday and was operating on very little sleep in a very new environment. I was amazed at what she gave us considering the circumstances. Just a beautiful child!

Selective coloring isn’t my most favorite thing to do in the world, but I thought it was pretty cool for this image. Reminds me of “Through the Looking Glass.”

This strange little creature greeted me in the kitchen this afternoon. I guess I don’t need a girl to pass along my dress up stuff to afterall. ;-)

“He’s a maniac…maaaaaniac on the floor…”

The softer side of the glove-footed creature.

In truth, the gloves are *actually* for serious firefighter work, as demonstrated above. The iPod headphones (R.I.P.) are his “radio.”

And, he’s off in his “firetruck” to fight a fire.  Austin’s finest, ladies and gentlemen.

Really.  He was so easy-going and put up with pretty much anything.  6 mos. old and will probably be walking very soon (if he isn’t already).  Isn’t that painting super cool????!!!  When I saw it, I *knew* we had to use it somehow.

His big brother and big sister are sooooooooo good with him.  I was amazed!

And then…he actually went to sleep.  I told his mama this *never* happens to me on non-newborns.  Oh, we had a lot of fun with these sleepy poses.

And this was too adorable not to post. ;-)

I’ve been a posting fool as of late, but now, I get a short break in sessions (whew!).  So, I’m going to hide away and catch up on LOTS of proofing.  See you in a bit!

I say “kinda” because tomorrow, I’m going out of town for a maternity session (and to pick up my kiddos whom I haven’t seen since Wed). I know I should be posting images from the photography workshop (and I *will* get to that eventually), but I also had the pleasure of meeting up with another Austin photographer today, Miss Autmn of Autumn Fawn Photography.  And let me tell you (well, you don’t need me to tell you because you can *see* it), her son is the most beautiful little child ever.  Just stunning, really.  (Helllooooo….mooooom…MODEL).  I just couldn’t help myself and had to play with a couple of these to post.

To Miss Andrea of Pink Sugar Photography: SOOO glad I got to meet you!  Had a wonderful time, thanks for the visit, and I can’t wait to see where you take this business next.  Love ya!

Okay, I’ll be back soon…

(play)date

April 24th, 2008 , Posted in just for fun, kids

Okay, it’s no secret that my eldest has a little girl friend (notice the space between those two words) at preschool.  Well, we finally got the kiddos together today for a (play)date.  Mama L…I had a GREAT time today.  Oh, it so felt like we were vacationing in some beach cabana.  Just wanted to share a few cute snaps from today.

A manly sort of tea party (I promise, Honey).

Mama  L and her hubby are quite crafty.  They designed and constructed this awesome playscape themselves.

Okay, what’s not to love about this one?

d1.jpg

This is pre(play)date preparation.  T is making a card just for his little friend.  He got a little embarrassed when I asked him about it.  The boy actually showered and brushed his teeth and got dressed *on his own* for this event today.  You could have knocked me over with a feather.

You may remember this little cutie from the bluebonnets a few weeks ago.  As promised, here are some pics from my second date with her.  It was a little touch and go for a bit there, but once I made a peace offering of Veggie Booty, Miss M and I were best friends.
