A building. A field. A family.

March 1st, 2010 , Posted in austin childrens photographer, Austin Commercial Photographer, Austin Family Photographer, Austin Kids Photographer

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged their full session yet. Oi! This is a family I’ve known for a couple of years now, but it’s the first time we were able to get the whole crew together. I’m SO glad we did…look at how much fun they are! I also enjoyed re-visiting one of my most favorite buildings in Austin. Something about redheads, too…

sleep study.

After the past few very rough days, it was lovely to see her finally sleeping so peacefully. Like a little angel.

More on that beautiful shirt later, by the way.

Also, if you haven’t been to the homeschool blog in a while…

Ugh.

She’s been so sick and now I’m getting it, too. We’ve been good for nothing much except snuggling by the TV for these past few days. I hope she turns the corner soon. I miss my sunny princess.

Since I don’t feel much like blogging myself, thought I’d share with you some recent Pinkle Toes blog features and let them do the talkin’:

The Maternal Lens

The Baby Cove

Nighty, night.

Well, this morning started off fine and dandy

February 23rd, 2010 , Posted in Anderson Family - My fam, Austin Baby Photographer, austin childrens photographer, Austin Commercial Photographer, Austin Kids Photographer, sneak peek

Albeit, a little cold. But who cares when you get to work with a boy this charming? (Great to see you guys again, today, M!)

But then, I spent the afternoon like this:

She’s absolutely pitiful. It’s so hard when your kids are sick. You can’t do anything and you can’t do anything for them. Snuggles are good. But does it make me a bad mom to say that I secretly enjoyed being forced to do nothing all day but hold my sleeping, fever-flushed angel in my arms? Perhaps, but it’s still precious to me.

boys will be boys.

February 21st, 2010 , Posted in austin childrens photographer, Austin Family Photographer, Austin Kids Photographer, Austin Xpressions Photography, sneak peek

Give a boy a chair and next thing you know, we’ve got Pinkle Toes X Games going on here. LOVE it! [Not sure if you can see it, but in the top left pic…check out the tongue…cracks me up!]

There is just an incredible amount of interest and texture and unique style on the east side of Austin and we could not have had more beautiful weather. It was so very wonderful to see you guys again, but mostly, it was wonderful just to give you a big hug.

[As with all Xpressions sessions, these images have only received basic edits to enhance contrast, but have otherwise not been retouched. The April 18th Xpressions are booked solid, but we do have 2 openings left for March 21st – The Clawfoot Tub Sessions. I’ve also opened up May 16th where we’re introducing a new concept that I’ll tell you about later. More details on Xpressions HERE.]

Pssst….THIS SUNDAY:

February 16th, 2010 , Posted in Austin Baby Photographer, austin childrens photographer, Austin Commercial Photographer, Austin Engagement Photographer, Austin Family Photographer, Austin Kids Photographer, Austin Maternity Photographer, Austin Pregnancy Photographer, Austin Senior Portraits, Austin Xpressions Photography

We’ve got one, teeny-tiny little opening left in the morning for our Xpressions sessions, Sunday, February 21st. We are going to be touring some of my favorite spots in trendy East Austin. Think hip, colorful, urban, funky, and fun! If you’ve been thinking about grabbing one of these photo sessions, just do it.

  • Maybe you need engagement pictures or haven’t had your picture taken with your significant other in a looooooooong time?
  • Some hip bridal portraits would be amazing at this location!
  • Maybe you’re expecting a baby and haven’t had maternity pictures done yet?
  • Maybe your baby has just figured out how to sit up on his own?
  • Perhaps your older "baby" is about to lose her first tooth and you need some pictures before it’s too late?
  • Or maybe you’re a graduating senior in Austin need to have your senior portraits made?

Let me know and let’s see if we can get together this Sunday.

[As with all Xpressions sessions, these images have only received basic edits…no retouching or additional enhancements.]

newborn perfection.

February 14th, 2010 , Posted in Austin Baby Photographer, austin childrens photographer, Austin Family Photographer, Austin Kids Photographer, Austin Newborn Photographer

First of all, I want to know how one family could get ALL of the "gorgeousness genes" in the gene pool? Secondly, I’m wondering if that beautiful baby boy ever cries because he sure didn’t the entire time I was there. Finally, how in the world does a mom of a pre-schooler AND a newborn get away with looking *this* amazing??? Not fair, I tell ya. Not fair!

Finally! Pic of the Month for January 2010.

Wow! I’ve never had such a hard time deciding like this. Oi! Thanks to everyone for your input.

[What does this mean?]

He can’t help it.

February 10th, 2010 , Posted in Austin Baby Photographer, austin childrens photographer, Austin Commercial Photographer, Austin Family Photographer, Austin Kids Photographer

This kid was born to super cool, ultra-hip parents. He is *going* to have style. Not to mention, hands-down, the COOLEST nursery I’ve ever seen.

And he’s cute as heck, too. Even when he’s mad at me ;-)

[Personal note to Cheyenne…you know exactly what I was trying to do with the diaper shots, don’t you? We’re not there yet, but someday, I vow to get something to rival THE pic in your office, LOL.]

Wonderment.

February 4th, 2010 , Posted in austin childrens photographer, Austin Family Photographer, Austin Kids Photographer

When we finally settled on our perfect location in Austin for our session, I knew I wanted it to reflect childlike wonderment.  I wanted the colors and shapes to be fantastical. Mostly, though, I wanted to capture the relationship between this young man and his mommy. Their bond is almost tangible. I loved watching the two of them play together. You’ll notice a few things as you go through the images below: 1. It was windy. It was INSANELY windy.  Like freak windstorm windy and these two were such troopers the whole time. 2. He likes flags. A lot. Thank goodness they had a few there. 3. Our sock-puppet, Lucy, makes an accidental cameo below. But I liked the image anyway.
