I got to meet up with this beautiful family and fellow photog, Michelle, quite literally the day before they moved back to sunny CA. This session was an absolute blast!  Really, I didn’t want it to end. Michelle and I chatted forever when we were done…my husband had to call me to tell me to come home ;-).  Get ready.  This is going to be a long post. And yes.  They are ALL that naturally gorgeous!

Thank you again, Michelle. It truly was wonderful meeting you all and some day when I travel to CA, I’m definitely going to look you up!

Every time I get one of these books in from the printer, I hold my breath.  And every time I actually get to flip through it in person, it makes a session so much more real…more tangible.  And every time, I get a little sad because it marks the end of that session.  But, every time, I get hopeful that I’ll get the chance to do this again in the future. (Now, if I can just remember to take pictures of these books every time ;-)).

I know, I know. Two days in a row of my kids, but I was designing my "Thank You" cards tonight and I just had to share this one because it made me say, "Aw."  And while I was searching for this pic, I came across these snaps of the frightening sight that greeted me when I arrived home from a session:

Yes, folks. Don’t look now, but it’s Iron Man and Wolverine. My husband got a little too creative with the cardboard, methinks.

I just need to ramble on for a minute.

She’s 7 months old.  Which is only 5 months away from 1 year.  Which is causing me great emotional pain. Gosh, it was almost a year ago when we found out we were having a little girl. I was so incredibly excited to get the chance to have a daughter, but I had no concept of just how much of a blessing she would be.  I also had no idea how much she would change her big brothers.  Her relationships with them are so unique, so close, and so special already…

…T loves her.  In a big way.  With his entire heart. Unconditionally.  She can do no wrong in his eyes.  He’s extremely protective of her.  Every morning he comes into our room and she’s the first (and sometimes only) person he acknowledges.  He has a certain voice that he uses with her and only her.  Their bond is deep.  It goes beyond what I can comprehend.

Then there’s Logi Bear.  Their relationship is based on good times and good humor. It’s jovial. It’s light. It’s effortless. He can just look at her and she cracks up. They love to laugh together.  I envision many dinners filled with witty banter and laughing until we cry. 

 And I see many hugs of support and encouragement and strength and love.

Family.  Nothing sweeter.

I actually got a little emotional on the way to this session.  I couldn’t believe that was over a year ago when I was driving out to meet her mama (then pregnant) for the first time.  Each session with her family has been fresh and fun, and it just blows me away when I flip through the past sessions and I can see just how much she’s changed and how much she’s stayed the same.  (I’ll take you on my trip down memory lane when I put together her First Year book). It’s been such a treat to watch this little angel grow up over the past year. 

Notice anything different…?

Proofing this session was so refreshing. I love the real-ness (is that a word?).  I love the softness.  I love how the brothers look at their baby sister. I love how mom glows (she must feel how I felt seeing my own bear cubs and their new sister not so long ago.) And all of them…so incredibly photogenic…how could I not enjoy proofing this one?! Thank you so much, M, for such a freeing and relaxed time (and an amazing cup of coffee over great conversation).
