I’m ready for winter.
Partly because I got our electric bill today and almost passed out from shock.
Mostly because I want to stuff Amry into this outfit from Boden.

It was an honor to be asked to photograph this family while dad was home from Iraq for his 2 week R&R. I loved watching them together, how close they were, how it was dad and *only* dad that could get little man to crack a smile. But it made my heart ache to think how much he is missed when he is away. All I can say is thank you, Bonnie, for lending us your husband and thank you Rick for doing what you do.

(What does this mean?) At first, this may seem like an unusual choice for Pic of the Month, but I do love these images together. She’s a mom of 2 boys and had her daughter (just like me). I love the connection, the wonder, and the purity that was captured at this session. Congratulations!

We tooled around SOCO tonight and not only is she ADORABLE (people kept stopping us just to tell her so), but she’s also a trooper. Can’t wait to meet baby boy!
[PS. Toying with the idea of updating my logo again. Something clean and simple. Like? No like?]

If you are planning to have photos done in time for the holidays for cards, gifts, etc., the time to schedule your session is now. September is pretty much booked, October is on it’s way, and in November we reach our holiday card/product ordering deadlines. (Stay tuned to the Session Openings Calendar for updates).
I mentioned this before, but a reminder: as a special incentive, I am offering a set of 24-5×7 flat holiday cards with CD purchase to anyone who holds their holiday session in August (you can choose from a handful of designs). This offer is good only while openings are available, so jump on it NOW! If you already have a session booked in August, you can receive these cards. If you’ve already booked your holiday session for Sept, Oct, or Nov, and move it to August, you can take advantage of this offer, too, but again, only until August books up.
Also in August, our Senior Xpressions for Austin area seniors graduating in 2010. Details.
(How do you like this moldy oldy? Our holiday card, circa 2007)

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!!! I am going to treasure these forever! We met up with Margaret (Gruesbeck Photography) and her fam to trade sessions again tonight. I’m so excited over these, I could just pop! I think any photog mom would agree that getting images of you with your kids is a rarity. Such a blessing to have been able to work with such a talented photographer. So excited I got these on my memory card so I could stay up super late tonight (even though I *should* be in bed) and process these right away!
She’s got most of her images on her memory card, but here’s a few I can share right now, starting with Margaret (and my hubs) in action:

And then M with her beautiful, patient, and sweet baby boy:

Thank you again, Margaret. For as much trouble as it can be getting my boys dressed and out of the house, this is definitely worth it. I hope we were able to get some images that you enjoy as much as I’m loving mine right now.

I had the privilege of watching this little guy make his entrance into this world.
I got to work with him again when he was about 6 months old:

…and despite this, we did manage some wonderful images this weekend in honor of his 2nd Birthday! Happy Birthday, Mr. JV!
P.S. – Guess what I learned today, Mom & Dad? The reason I couldn’t attend Jack’s birthday party was because I was photographing one of his classmates (and his new baby brother – whose birth I also photographed…craziness). Recognize him?

Small world!!!!

All clients fill out a little information form before their session so I can learn more about their vision for the session and get to know everyone a little better. I LOVE reading what parents have to say about their children. Kate’s mommy authored the text that accompanies the images in the show. (Well, one exception: I added the last line). So, click to play and enjoy:

Finally. Finally we got to do his newborn session. Totally worth the wait. He was a gem!
