My internet service has been off/on yesterday and today, so it’s going to take a while for me to get back to all of my e-mails.  Just wanted to squeeze this message in while I had a little bit of service.

When I was a little girl, my dad’s girlfriend gave me a musical jewelry box full of her old jewelry. I LOVED it. Treasured it. Explored the contents and bejeweled myself for hours on end. I’ve been on a mission to find my little miss a jewelry box even before she was born and I finally found one I loved. It plays "Clare de Lune" (hear it here). She seems to love her jewelry box, too. Now to find some jewels…

This beautiful bride-to-be said these should have a fairytale feel to them. Between the dress and the location and the loving couple and the beautiful light, I think we got it. (And no…I didn’t suddenly change my tune and jump into a wedding…these are just engagement/bridal pics ;-).

Truly. Like straight out of a Disney movie. She’s absolutely beautiful and perfect.

I’ve been struggling lately with the kind of photographer I want to be.  In my mind, I want to be the person to capture life and the moments as they are.  I want to stop trying to force some preconceived image in my head or something that wowed me on someone else’s website.  I want my work to be pure and from the heart.  And so, nervously, but with great anticipation, I left the beanbag in the car (thanks, Tara), I approached today’s newborn session with pure and simple in my heart.

My heart is happy.

As bugs have begun to replace the bulldozers and excavators at my home, it made my heart happy to see a new generation of construction-loving little boys today.  Long live Bob the Builder.  Angela, never forget their first loves…
