Well. It happened. My eldest graduated from Pre-K. In the grand scheme of things, I know it’s not a huge deal, but in the Anderson household, it actually is. This marks the beginning of a major change. I haven’t talked about it much (at all?) on here, but my husband (yes, the mohawked-5th-grade-science-public-school-teacher) will be saying goodbye to that part of his life (he’s been teaching for more than a decade) to stay home and lead our own home school.

Wow. It feels strange to type that out.  A little scary.

It’s exciting, too, because I know our children will have one of the greatest teachers I’ve ever known.  His/our vision for our school is very different from the norm. And I hope that we can follow through with the greatest success.

This little guy was SO easy-going.  Really. We changed his outfits a bazillion times, plopped him down all over the place, and he just put up with me.  No major meltdowns, just 100% pure cuteness.

Okay, okay, I already know what you’re thinking. But before you say, “Michele, I thought you said he was getting a PINK mohawk?” let me insist that the color we bought was called “burgundy.” It was the closest to pink we could find. And clearly, this is burgundy and definitely NOT orange. ;-)

I know I’m a little bit biased, but I think my boys look good in their do’s.

Congrats to my husband’s 5th graders for getting 84% passing on the TAKS Science test!!!! See the finished product tomorrow. [oh yeah, it gets way better]. ;-)

Seriously?  For real?  His eyes are that amazing! He literally stopped me in my tracks the first second I saw him. A natural in front of the camera, too!

When you hear the phrase “child-like wonder” this is who they’re talking about. He was so charming and so fun! Pure joy!

See, Mama?  I told you she was adorable, even while doing this. ;-)   Regarding the peacock…this location was AMAZING and there were these beautiful peacocks roaming around.  We tried and tried and tried to get a shot of Baby D with the peacocks but I’m not sure who was more scared of whom. So I just thought I’d put a shot of the peacock next to a shot of Baby D.  Close enough, right?

If you’ve been following along, this was her 1 year sesssion.  Here she is at 6 months.  As a newborn.  At age -newborn. Incredible how much they change and yet how much they stay the same.

A few months ago I got to hang out with one of my favorite families. It was a magical, perfect evening.  And, it was the perfect venue for my new friend Ray with Underground Planet to come out and film this.  I’m very excited to give you a peek into what a session with me is really all about:

I’m just so excited about this!  I love the footage Ray captured and the treatment of the video.  I don’t know how in the world he culled the hours of footage into these perfect clips. The whole process was so organic.  Thank you so much, Ray.  And thank you to the C family as well for everything.  I’m the luckiest gal in the world to have been there to witness all these major milestones in your beautiful family!
