PINKLE TOES PHOTOGRAPHY: The light of knowledge ♥ Austin Child Photographer
Well. It happened. My eldest graduated from Pre-K. In the grand scheme of things, I know it’s not a huge deal, but in the Anderson household, it actually is. This marks the beginning of a major change. I haven’t talked about it much (at all?) on here, but my husband (yes, the mohawked-5th-grade-science-public-school-teacher) will be saying goodbye to that part of his life (he’s been teaching for more than a decade) to stay home and lead our own home school.
Wow. It feels strange to type that out. A little scary.
It’s exciting, too, because I know our children will have one of the greatest teachers I’ve ever known. His/our vision for our school is very different from the norm. And I hope that we can follow through with the greatest success.

CONGRATULATIONS on your lil guy’s graduations! Definitely a big accomplishment in his eyes anyway. I love the pic–he looks so pensive. It’s awesome that you and your hubby have decided to homeschool your children. I’m sure they will enjoy it as much as he will. Again congrats!

that’s awesome. That is what I’m doing as well. With everything our son has going on, we’ve just decided it’s the way to go! Good luck with it all!

We homeschool, too and also follow a path unlike the one many others choose. Your family lives such a full life and your children are surrounded by so many wonderful and creative things. They won’t be able to keep themselves from learning! You will love it. We’ve been doing it for 3 years and it is the best decision we ever made. I look forward to reading y’alls homeschool adventures!

We’ll be jumping off into the world of homeschooling in the fall. I’ll be homeschooling our oldest for 2nd grade. Kinda scary but I’m so looking forward to having more time to spend with him.

wow!!! Homeschooling is great! We did it last year but my son had some speech problems that were better solved at school (but we pay an arm and a leg for private school) I imagine that one day we will do it again :) You will love how close your family your family will be because of homeschooling.

Great news for your little man! Way to go to your husband too. I am a mom of 5 kids (all under 6) and I homeschool my oldest 2 (6 yr old twins). Its been really great for our family. I am also a busy photographer and it all works out! So don’t worry you all will do great! On another note I am SO impressed with how many homeschool moms commented!

Wow! I’ve been reading your blog for a couple of months (found it through Lynday’s site), but I’ve never commented. I’d love love love more info on why/how you’re doing this, because it’s also something we’re considering for our 4 and 2 year old.

Very cool! Keep us posted on how the HS-ing goes. We’ve been batting around the idea for a while (ours is 2, so we have some time still) and I’ll be checking to hear how it’s going in your household. Your blog is always a treat to read – refreshing, real & genuine – can’t wait to hear about this new aspect of your life! Gorgeous pic, btw. – PB :)
