PINKLE TOES PHOTOGRAPHY: Stolen ♥ Austin Infant Photographer

April 18th, 2009 , Posted in Austin Baby Photographer, Austin Newborn Photographer, sneak peek

My heart, that is.  By this little angel.

Although she slept the WHOLE time I was there, her parents tell me that she’s quite the little fighter. She’s got a long road ahead of her, so if you don’t mind, please keep her in your thoughts.

PINKLE TOES PHOTOGRAPHY: More from her maternity ♥ Austin Maternity Portraits

April 13th, 2009 , Posted in Austin Maternity Photographer, Austin Pregnancy Photographer, Fashion Ideas, sneak peek

I think we breezed through this session in about 30 minutes.  I’m never able to work that quickly, but she was such a GREAT model.  And, I was thrilled she was up for using this location I’ve had my eye on for ages. Had to jet out of town right after posting her sneak last week, but I just had to come back for more.

P.S. Thank you all so much for the support and advice and encouragement below. You all have really helped me keep my chin up through a rough night. Thank you.

P.S.S. (or is it P.P.S? I’m pretty sure it’s not P.M.S.) Still have some openings left for The Bump Mini Maternities. ;-)

PINKLE TOES PHOTOGRAPHY: all is not rosy. ♥ Austin Baby Photographer

April 13th, 2009 , Posted in Anderson Family - My fam, Austin Baby Photographer, Austin Family Photographer, Austin Kids Photographer, Austin Maternity Photographer

Feeling a little melancholy tonight.  I need to talk. Mind if I share something a little more personal on here? Having successfully nursed two other children into toddlerhood, I’ve carried on that streak to number 3. I love nursing. I’ve never had any problems in doing so.  It’s just been second nature.  It came easily. I’ve never had any issues with supply.

But as I’m sitting here trying to type this out, my daughter is wailing in her swing and to be quite honest, I’m about to break down with her. About a month ago, I made a huge mistake that has put my current nursing relationship at serious risk. I started back on the pill (Loestrin). I was told that there was a *very* small chance that it could affect my milk supply, but because we had a well established relationship, it was very unlikely.  I was on the pill for a week when I noticed the change. My supply had almost vanished completely. Of course, I immediately stopped taking the pill and began a vigorous regimen to try and build my supply back up to where it was just a few short weeks ago.  Fenugreek, oatmeal, pumping, frequent nursing.  I am trying everything, but every afternoon at around 4 p.m., the witching hours begin. She tries to nurse, but if it doesn’t let down fast enough, she gets frustrated. And then eventually, she works herself into a frenzy and I can’t do anything to ease her irritation. I can’t comfort her. I can’t put her down. I suppose I could have my husband give her a bottle, but I really don’t want to do that. I guess she could start on cereal, but I just don’t think she’s ready.

I feel like I’ve always done everything right when it came to nursing my babies, but this time, I am really struggling.  My evenings have become one long battle during a time when I really need to catch up on work so I can devote the daytime to my boys.   I’m not a first-time mother. She’s been nursing (and well) for more than 4 months. Heck, I’ve always been the one to give advice to other moms who’ve had a rough go at nursing. I don’t understand how this has happened.  I don’t know how to fix it. I feel like I’m failing her. I’m so disappointed in myself. I’m frustrated and tired and embarrassed. I miss those days when my sweet baby girl was always rosy.

[ETA: I keep reading this and all of your comments over and over again. It's helping. Thank you.]

[ETA again: problem solved!]

I have to admit I was a little giddy when I learned that one of my images was going to be featured on Shutter Sisters.  I only regret that I just learned about this awesome blog a week or so ago. Thanks so much, Tracey!  What an honor and what a cool blog!

PINKLE TOES PHOTOGRAPHY: Domestications ♥ Austin Children’s Photographer

April 9th, 2009 , Posted in Anderson Family - My fam, Random Ramblings

1. Laundry day – these are some of my most favorite times with my baby girl. She and I have girl talk while I fold clothes. I hope we are able to do that for years to come. (And yeah, that’s my dead sexy nursing bra hanging out there.)

2. Finally, finally, finally got the hubs to hang my favorite pics up. My heart is overjoyed every time I look at them.

3. More pics (going up the stairwell) that make me smile.  These are from our annual beach trip.  I love to look at these and realize that last year on our trip, we didn’t know if we were having a baby boy or a baby girl.  I’m so excited I get to add pictures of baby sister to this display in a few months.

4. Amry finally has her own play area.  Well, it was her own until her big brothers decided it was too cool to pass up.

5. Did some re-organizing of the boys’ play area, including the rug I scored on clearance at Target.  Don’t know why they still insist on invading their sister’s haven.

6. Amry chatting with her giant caterpillar.  I just thought this was cute.

7. My MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE alternative to the $$ I dropped on hair bows a few weeks ago. That’s the liner stuff you use in kitchen drawers. Keeps the bows from slipping. I’ve got enough liner to make about 3,000 hairbows. I’m in business now. ;-)

8. T has been really into drawing and creating lately. This is our family. I bawled when I saw this hung up on the fridge the other day. Especially when I noticed the fine details…like each of our ages scrawled proudly on our bodies. (I’m 03).

9. I don’t cook. Ever. But after this little creation, I’m changing my name to Betty C:

PINKLE TOES PHOTOGRAPHY: He rocked (and he rolled) ♥ Austin Baby Photographer

April 6th, 2009 , Posted in Austin Baby Photographer, Austin Family Photographer, Austin Kids Photographer, sneak peek

A super quick sneaky (I’m a little under the weather today) from yesterday’s session in celebration of this little man’s upcoming 1 year Birthday.  We started off downtown but the freak windstorm drove us indoors to the COOLEST condo I have ever seen (that’s big brother jammin’ out on the drums).  The little guy was such a trooper (he rocked) and tried to put up with me as long as he could, inspite of two faceplants (he rolled).
